FracNet

Our defect detection model. It finds cracks, spalling and corrosion in the survey data, places each one on the 3D surface, and reports its size.

Talk to an engineer

Runs as part of every survey. Not sold separately.

What it replaces.

An inspector writes down that a girder has moderate cracking. Another inspector, or the same one a year later, might write light or severe for the same girder. FracNet returns a number instead.

Repeatable

The same imagery gives the same result every time, so two surveys of one structure can be compared.

Complete

It reads the whole captured surface, including areas an inspector cannot reach or see from the deck.

Located

Each defect is placed on the 3D model, so it has a position on a named element rather than a note in a report.

In and out.

Input: survey data

Imagery and surface data from the site capture.

Input: geometry

The geometry scan and the BIM model, used to place each detection in real coordinates.

Output: defect type

Cracking, spalling or corrosion, classified per detection.

Output: measurement

Crack width and length. Spall area and depth. Corrosion extent.

Output: damage volume

Lost section as a volume, which is what a repair quantity is taken from.

Output: element ID

The BIM element each defect sits on, so findings attach to real structural members.

A person checks it.

FracNet does not sign off a structure. A structural engineer reviews every output before it reaches you, and can correct or add to it in InfraTwin.

Review

An engineer goes through the detections against the imagery before handover.

Correction

Anything wrong is edited in the twin. Corrections are recorded, with who made them and when.

Your engineers too

Your team can add findings and test data to the same record after handover.

Limits.

Worth knowing before you commission a survey.

Surface only

FracNet reads what the capture can see. Internal condition needs destructive or non-destructive testing, which we log alongside it.

Capture quality

Detection is limited by the imagery. Poor light, heavy vegetation or restricted access reduce what can be measured.

Concrete

Built and tested on reinforced concrete structures. Steel and masonry are not currently supported.

Have data already?

If you hold survey data for a concrete structure, tell us what you have and we will say whether we can measure it.
